Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

~ James 1:17

Sunrises,

Quiet time at dawn,

My skinny, cranky little Bud-Jack.

Unexpected visitors who want to go to the library with us,

Christmas music while I fold towels,

Power outage in the living room – sometimes it’s nice to sit a spell in the dark.

Spring-like temps with rain that makes it feel even more like spring,

An Advent plan ready to go,

A day with nothing to do but homeschool, cook and clean (finally!).

Books with kids,

Handwashing the floor (must burn more calories, right?),

HUGE rainbow out front – SO beautiful.

Kids-eat-free at Chick-Fil-A on Tuesdays,

A husband who takes me there instead of making me cook,

Lights back on in the living room.

My Grandma’s Crumb Cake recipe (espe.cially convenient when I have no eggs),

A very pleasant trip to a library with pleasant librarians and my library buddy,

A relatively cleaned out car that Bud-Jack helped me with .

My parents,

My kids,

A God who loves my kids even more than I do – a perfect, loving Heavenly Father.

Jan Brett,

Brothers riding bikes together,

A bit without the internet.

Sundays,

Gingerbreadbabies (8 minutes, no more, no less, no peeking!),

Mini M&Ms and Wilton’s food coloring markers.

Just one thing to do today. . .

Grab your journal or a piece of paper or a computer and jot down this wonderful day of Advent every small and big gift God gives you today – thank Him for each and every one.  And consider blogging these gifts and sharing your list at A Holy Experience.
