A new year into which we carry the fun and excitement of Christmas with us. . .  at least till this Thursday. . .  Okay, we’ll carry it longer than that. . .

  • Christmas Eve with our second family – being included in their yearly tradition. . .
  • All those nights of pulling near-all-nighters with nursing babies – they prepared me for every holiday and birthday I’ll ever face. . .
  • A Baby,
  • a multitude of heavenly host,
  • and a single star (these are the things that make Christmas magical).
  • A book found.
  • Time alone to read (thanks to husband’s insistence).
  • A couple cat naps mixed into my reading time.
  • That look Bud-Jack gets on his face right before he does something “daring”.
  • Chocolate.
  • Perfect timing.
  • Smiling faces.
  • The warm glow of tree lights and wood stove in the evening.
  • A camera to catch a bit of it with.
  • Surprise snow fall.
  • A warm living room.
  • Vacation – the excuse to let these things lull me into a state of semi-consciousness.
  • Finding just the right thing at the store for a great price.
  • A spontaneous husband who whisks us away for a late night treat at the diner.
  • Favorite seed catalogue ordered.
  • A new year.
  • 365 individually new days.
  • One everlasting, perfect God who never changes.
  • Hoppin’ John and ham.
  • Bud-Jack-made gingerbread with. . .
  • . . . a double serving of homemade sweetened whipped cream!
